RANK
HOW IT WORKS
The Rank system is for individual Players to shine, having their own identity outside of their Faction if they are in one. This helps ensure that good sportsmanship is rewarded, encourages roleplay outside of friend groups, and supports the other two systems. Ranks will always be in flux, affected by scene submissions, absence depreciations, and story impact. While this system is a tiered threat system it does not only equal evil or violent characters, the Rank merely means how powerful of a reputation they hold in-character. An evil character can be combat proficient thus a viable threat, but an innocent character could call for back up and overwhelm with numbers. This system does not mean immediate defeat either since it's purely a measurement of public perception. Every week an in-character news bulletin will be posted of Rank changes, with bounties issued by the Architect.
Rank Hierarchy
S Rank: Everyone knows who you are, your influence and reputation known globally, and are either respected or feared. Or both.
A Rank: You don't need to pull strings, your word is enough to have impact alone, your in-person presence a powerful tool.
B Rank: People are starting to recognize you on the streets, knowing all you have done by word of mouth.
C Rank: There are rumors about you but not everyone remembers your name.
D Rank: You can probably negotiate for higher pay, maybe.
E Rank: Never heard of you.
What rank do I start at?
Every Player starts out in E Tier, the lowest rank, meaning they are not perceived as a threat.
How do I climb in rank?
There is a submission form in the Community Index in the Discord. Each submission should have provided logs, either via Google Doc or attached file, with a quick synopsis of the outcome, and listing any and all people involved. If the scene is found viable for a rank up then it will be counted in favor of the Player. There is no set quota that guarantees rank up, rather it is the quality of roleplay which is determined by depth of involvement, impact of the scene, and the final outcome. Whether combat oriented, dialogue centered, or wordless interaction, anything that is considered a 'canon event' for your character is allowed.
How will I know if a scene counted in my favor?
Due to the number of Players there is no way to reach out to everyone for every submission, thus Players must wait for the weekly news bulletin to see if they gained or dropped in rank. If you have submitted several times but have not ranked up, and feel like you should, please submit a ticket via Discord of which only the Sim Owner can see. Discussion is always welcome, but blatant arguing will result in no longer being able to submit for thirty days.
Why and how will I drop in rank?
If you are not active on sim without posting in the Hiatus channel in the Discord you will depreciate in rank, if you shelve a character for a time they will also depreciate in rank unless there is an in-character reason for their absence which can be communicated through your Faction Leader or to a Storyteller if you have no Faction. The reason for this is to keep ranks viable. If everyone ranks up to the upper tiers without anyone dropping off then eventually the ranks will mean nothing at all.
My character died, can I keep my rank?
Ranks can not be transferred between characters, nor can it be transferred to a new character upon death of the original. But do not despair! If your character dies in a way that impacts your Faction, the sim, or the overall story in a profound way, you start with the rank just below the original. This must be discussed with a Storyteller or Faction Leader and approved by the Sim Owner, this is to ensure a malicious Player is not continually becoming entangled with others and leaving major holes in their stories, all while maintaining the privileges of the rank.
What privileges are there with ranks?
The Rank system goes hand in hand with the Enclave and Strife system. If you are involved in a scene for an Enclave submission you will give more weight to the scene in favor of your Faction. If you submit for the Strife system your scene will be allowed to have more impact on the sim. Since it does take some time to gain rank it is a system that also rewards longevity and player investment. And a higher ranking means more leeway with the Architect.

Rankings will begin a week after the sim opens.
